I got my Garmin in the mail today. I got up early so I can play with it on the way to work. This thing is really cool! It tracks max speed, avg speed, time it took to go the milage on display, ect. I am 3.85 miles away from the nearest Gentlemans club and my max speed right now is 104 mph (Thanks Predator!) Anyway, just another toy to play with.:grd:

Been looking at one of those units myself. Have you figured out a good mounting place for this unit? If you found a good source & best price, please share! Best regards.

The Quest is a great unit. I ordered mine from gpsonsale.com Thats the cheapest price i was able to find. My dad got his at Staples. price was much higher, then i seach around found gpsonsale.com to be the best price, so that where i got mine. We first had an idea of sharing it since you can remove it from car to car. but that didnt workout  we loved it too much! I had to buy my own. I might get that external antenna to see if i can pick up more satilites.

Thats where i have mine i like it there just fine

it looks alot like the edge attitude monitor, you reckon it would fit in the attitude overhead mount:confused: then run the antenna??

I got an external antenna for my Garmin GPS III+ on eBay, & it really helps with getting better reception & more accurate readings. I can even get a "lock" inside my garage now. They were only about $25 on eBay the last time I checked.

I found mine online too, for around 450 plus shipping. The windshield mount comes with the unit and seems to be a good place to put it. They also offer a dash mount bracket but I would think that might require an external antenna.

do you have to buy the external speaker to get audio when getting verbal direction?

I have one also, it's prity nice set up!

I have mine in the same place dieselrcr337 has his, I pulled the pannel dowun under the steering wheel and ran the power wireunder the wheel then to the 12 volt plug. My plug had the speaker built into it.

I'm using my onstar antenna as an external unit for my gps. There are times when I have 12 sats locked. It works great.

No, it comes built in with the 12 volt charger.
