I beleive mine are set as low as they will go , the front of my truck sits way down. My 285/75/r16 scrub like crazy when i am backing up and turning. My question is other than putting it on some jack stands before adjusting the bars, do I need to do any thing else.

Does anything need to be added to my plan?

Jack the truck up
Sit it on jack stands
measure the distance from the bottom of both tires to the ground
Mark the bolts on the torsion bars
Turn them both even turns
Re-measure the bottom of the tires to the ground
take the truck off the jack stands
Drive it to the alignment shop 2 blocks from my work , and get it re-aligned.

How many turns can I put on the bolts

Please Tell me if I am missing anything

Thats to install green keys. All you have to do is jack the front end up. No need for the stands, and crank them 4 turns evenly. You don't have to go to an alignment shop unless your changing keys. You do have to tie your brake cable back on the driver side, and maybe the fender liner.

you can turn the bolts until they max out if you want. i just cranked them until they were as even with the rear as i could get. i ended up with about 2 turns left until the bolts are maxed and the front is about 1" lower than the rear, but it looks pretty even (i think there was 3.5" difference stock). i didnt mess with my ebrake or fender liner and have not had any problems.

I lowered mine 2" all around and the procedure is as described, but I used different levers to get the 2" in front. Stock levers wouldn't get it that low. I had to aline the front end. Used longer spring hangers in the rear.

I've posted this before, but here's what worked for me:
Up 5 rounds from stock, Caster will be off. Get it realigned. 285/75 BFG ATs clear all with no further mods. Good luck.

I would get in the habit of using jack stands any time yer lifting the truck, I have seen jacks fail.....thankfully I have not witnessed any serious injuries, but only because they were using stands, or no one was under the rig when it failed.

Well, if your changing keys YES! definatley use stands. But if all your doing is cranking the bars up all you need to do is take the weight of the bars and tighten them. Even if the jack would fall that quickly the truck won't fall on you. Oh and use the emergency brake too. Shouldn't have any probs.
