I am getting ready to remote mount a new PMD.
1) Is the resistor needed or will it run a default equal to a #5 ?
2) Where is the best location to mount it up front in the grille or some where under the truck ?

you can run it without a resistor. ran mine for two years without one till i got the #9. best place to mount fsd is where it can get as much cool air as possible. some of us have even run flexible duct work to help keep it cool.
