Lucky me, i found a spot of coolant on the driveway today, at least a foot across. Underneath the engine on the drivers side is wet and drippy, but i can't find the source. I'm gonna spray it off tomorrow and see if i can find the leak. Any techs have suggestions on what to look for? Its an '02 Dmax with 42k miles. No real problems with the truck so far, hoping this is something minor.. Thanks in advance for any help:help2:

Water pump or oil cooler

Thank you very much! sure enough, its the water pump leaking from the little hole on the bottom. Does anybody know if this is covered under the Dmax 100k warranty? if not, anybody know where i can get an oem new water pump for cheap?

Found out today that the water pump is covered under the 100k duramax warranty, but the local dealer with diesel techs are busy enough that they need the truck for a whole week! AND there is a $100 deductible! List price on the pump alone is $214.94:eek: This really sucks, anybody know where i can get the part cheaper?

It never hurts to look for the part cheaper,just as long as you dont buy a cheaper part than what you need. Id wait it out and let them do it under warranty,in case theres any future issues where your warranty is needed,they cant dispute it if they did it.

If it is covered under warranty, why do you care what it costs? To change
the water pump I think you need to take the vibration damper off. I understand that is a bit of fun.

Maybe that is why they want to keep it a week :D
