I was looking for a remote starter and while I was searching I came across a GM factory accessory site that listed one. In the description it said for 03-08. I know that they have a factory kit for the 07-08's, but does anyone know if they make a factory kit for my 06. Thanks for the info.

compustar or dei remotes are the best way to go if not done at the factory. installed under 300 for start only no security ( will activate factory security thuo thru remote )

http://www.gm-parts-dealer.com/accessories.htm
Fill in the blanks and then search.
Would be nice if they where a "plug and play"
Any one know?

I hate to be the asshole here, but that website sucks. They have an idiot for an IT guy.
They've combined the old and new body styles (most of the items are listed "2003-2008" which isnt correct) and therefore all the new body accessories are also listed for the older trucks.
IIRC, there was not an OEM remote start available for the GMT-800 trucks, unless maybe there was one for the Escalade or Denali that we could retrofit.
MaxPower used to sell the Astrostart remote starters. Dont know if he still does. People used to rave about them on here.

You can't use the OEM Gm starter on an 06. You must go aftermarket. Pick your poison! Get a qualified installer. As easy as these trucks are to do, there seems to be some out there that still screw them up.
