When I had my truck lifted I bought the KMC XD Hoss wheels because of look and didn't even think about the weight rating of the wheels. :duh: I looked it up the other day and found that the weight rating was 2200lbs. That doesn't seem like very much for these trucks and now I'm a little concerned because I do tow a bit and seem to haul a bunch of stuff around every now and then. Should I be concerned?

im not happy with my XD rockstar duallys either. they cant be aligned. who would sell a wheel that cant be aligned?

That's kind of what I thought when I found the specs on my wheels. Most of the aftermarket accessories meet or exceed the OEM specs, guess I was wrong about the wheels. :mad:

I think you have your information wrong. The 8 lug KMC's have a 3200lb load rating and all the 5-6 lugs have a 2200 lb load rating. Where did you get your info from?

I just read that too... I've never had a problem one with my KMC rockstars or the KMC ambush's that i Have now... :D

My Xd's are rated at 3200 as well. Either your wheels are a rare breed or the info you got was wrong.

yeah now that I am a diesel owner, I keep having to remind myself this a much heavier truck, this aint' you dad's 1/2 ton anymore. I am reading the weight spec on a lot of things, I guess that is why i have always wanted a diesel so many things you can do to them.

Yeah, I just read that Wheel Pros bought American Racing and I'm running ATX Teflon "Vice" wheels on my truck. Hopefully I won't run in to any problems. They're rated at 3300lbs per wheel.

ive been there done that too with wheel pros. no help what so ever. and i run the rockstar duallys and i cant believe there selling theses things. i dont know what they were smoking when they designed them. nothin but problems

I think most if not all of the cast wheels are made in china these days. If you went for some forged wheels, you might find some made right here in the good ole USA.

Guys, it is more or less a crap shoot with wheels these days. I had a set of Weld forged 20" Sandstorms prior to my KMC and the Chrome was cracking and popping off as if the rim was stressed. They did accomodate me with replacement under the 5 year warranty, but since American Racing bought them they did not offer these wheels any longer. I opted to go with less expensive KMC and stuff rest of money in my pocket at the time. Now I see one of my KMC wheels is pitting after only few miles. There are no real guarentees these days.

I love my Rockstars but I hate the finish more than anything. Their just painted and you have to put tire gel on them to make them look decent. If not they look faded bad. Why didnt they powdercoat them like the other XD's?

i've looked on the XD site for this info but have been less than impressed.

i just got mine 2 days ago! i only wanted 16 inch rims and i got them mounted and balanced with 285 dick cepek mud country tires i love them i think they look bad a$$

Check out my garage at my new hoss wheels i don't have them on the truck yet because were getting 4-8 inches of snow till about sunday when i get them on i'll get more pictures up!
