: tug of war?
SPUDNIK 12-22-2008, 11:38 PM ok i know you guys hate it and think its stupid... but this dam titan guy keeps talkin sh*t, and yes i should be the bigger man and walk away....but i think im goin to take that other route and yank his ass.:D
now help me win this, i ve never done it before and i know its a titan but i do not want to lose, id rather own a ford then get beat by a titan.
advice...
dozerboy 12-23-2008, 01:10 PM Have a bit of weight in the bed having DRW will put you at a disadvantage. I doubt so much that you would lose to a titan empty. 2 ways to do it boosted launch and yank him or hold the brakes until he start to spin then just accelerate.
badbowtie169 12-23-2008, 02:56 PM lower tire pressure and attach strap as high as you can on your truck.
also look a few topics down and you will find a post about the same thing.
06 LILLY 12-23-2008, 03:10 PM fill your truck up with weight and block up the rear end with blocks and drag his ASS!!!
black4x4 12-23-2008, 03:33 PM set the truck up like you were going to pull a sled run more air in the back tires then front. remove one of your back tires to increase contact pressure. hitch height as high as you can get it. and I'd do the boosted launch I know for a fact there is trucks in my area were if you tried the just hold the brakes style you would be going backwards no ifs ans or buts about it.
Big Chris 12-23-2008, 06:04 PM Don't know if your truck is 4wd but if it is get a set of tie rod sleeves
SPUDNIK 12-23-2008, 07:29 PM no its 2wd. and really i thought a dually would be better for this.
Block the rear end? explain....
SPUDNIK 12-23-2008, 07:30 PM oh yea hes got 4wd
floriduramax1 12-23-2008, 07:35 PM The only way you can pull him is with as much weight in the back of you truck as possible!
dmaxfireman 12-23-2008, 07:41 PM jmho....... ->
i would suggest getting two 5 gallon drums filling them with water and strapping them to the back of the bed against the tail gate.
Then put a floor jack under your hitch and jack up until the tires are off the ground and remove the bumpstops, put 4x4 wooden blocks between the springs and bumpstops.
drop your tire pressure to about 30-40lbs per tire.
put the truck in 1st
on edit: ease into the throttle. if you choose stand on the brakes if he seems over zealous and let him break traction then ease on the throttle and off the brakes and drag him around the corner :D
06 LILLY 12-23-2008, 08:54 PM no its 2wd. and really i thought a dually would be better for this.
Block the rear end? explain....
Get squat blocks that are normaly used by pullers, they keep your tuck for squating down in the rear.
SPUDNIK 12-23-2008, 08:57 PM dam is a titan that tough?
i thought hitch high and lower psi on the tires would take him.
how hard would another diesel be!
black4x4 12-23-2008, 09:12 PM I wouldn't even try since your 2wd and hes 4wd odds realy arn't in your favor big time.
black4x4 12-23-2008, 09:13 PM Also if you hooked to another diesel they'd drag you like a toy, unless they are 2wd to.
SPUDNIK 12-23-2008, 09:29 PM well this sux.... what is my truck good for now...lol
i have faith in my baby... 2wd for the win..i hope
black05dmax 12-23-2008, 09:40 PM Just go ahead and do it , Get a video and let every one see it.... Bust his ass
SPUDNIK 12-23-2008, 09:58 PM ok guys jus talk to the guy and its about to happen tonight... i got a 6 inch strap, im hookin it to my goose neck, i also have a couple sand bags im tossin in the back, psi will be lowered. wish me luck
ps
winner gets $100 bucks
06 LILLY 12-23-2008, 10:06 PM hell yeah!!.drag it
black4x4 12-23-2008, 10:06 PM If that straps more them 10-15' then hitch hieght won't really play into the whole deal to much.
your truck would make a good tow rig
SPUDNIK 12-23-2008, 11:38 PM :D get ready for a funnnnny story.....oh yea my ego is really big right now...
the deed is done i pull his shit like it was a toy.
ok i met him at an old wal mart in the back parking lot... their was more ppl then i thought. i didnt hook up too my goose neck, one of my pals had a sled pullin hitch:rolleyes:(go figure) so i strapped up to it and put it as high as possible then he hooked up. so he agreed to stay in 2wd for the first pull... and boy that was a joke he seemed excited so i jus braked and as i thought, he punched it, tires started to smoke then i jus slowly rolled in to it and that was a wrap. 2nd run he put it in 4wd, to my supprise he slowly rolled in to it, i still braked and slowly tugged him even when he braked i still pulled him... 3rd run(the good one) this time i decided too yank the shit out of him and then he punched it and.......POW!!!!! front diff or transfer case blew... i warped his bumper also... i let him keep the $100 bucks. we both knew the things that could go wrong so no hard feelins
i know its a titan no big deal but this is the first time i ever did this, and it was pretty fun.
thanks for the tips guys
dmaxfireman 12-24-2008, 08:15 AM good for you! traction and torque are the big players when pulling. you've got a stout beast there that when properly set up could move just about anything :)
blk2dmax 12-24-2008, 08:48 AM YOU big bully pick on somebody your own SIZE:boxing:
SPUDNIK 12-24-2008, 02:03 PM YOU big bully pick on somebody your own SIZE:boxing:

dozerboy 12-24-2008, 03:18 PM That guy doesn't know when to quit 2 loses and he still came back for more.
racinmike77 12-24-2008, 03:46 PM I thought the Titan had class leading horsepower:confuzeld
dmaxfireman 12-24-2008, 03:59 PM I thought the Titan had class leading horsepower:confuzeld
only when going downhill with a tailwind with the optional flux capcitor turned up to 1.21 jiggawatts. haha gotta read the fine print :D
1LTREATR 12-24-2008, 05:37 PM video????
SPUDNIK 12-24-2008, 05:52 PM i have the video on my phone, my phone sucks, but ill try to get it on here soon
tuney443 12-24-2008, 05:54 PM Good story Spudnik---I really couldn't understand why you seemed so nervous about that Titan.I knew all along that any duallie could take him, just from the shear weight difference and the additional traction with 2 more tires.I think the guy is a fool screwing with your ride.Congrats.
