Whose got one. Been thinking of putting one in my barn to work on the trucks and maybe store an extra vehicle on and park one underneath. What kind do you have, how do you like it, and how much$$$? Also how much concrete would I have to have 4" or 6". Also could I pour the concrete and drill it out for the anchors or should I put the anchors in and then pour?

I have a Rotary 9000# lift. I like it but i feel like its too light for our trucks. I would get a 10000# at least. Any major brand fine. I like the 2post lifts the best with over head brace/stop. The base plate versions are only nice if your celing is 10ft or less. The base plate models suck in my opinion because the plate is always in your way. tranny jacks oil sumps, rollaround box etc, always hits it. Anyways exspect to pay around 2000 bucks for one. Best money you will ever spend if you do all your mentainence yourself. Good Day

My dad has a four post lift and i love him for it! It has made so many projects both big and small come out faster and better. Safety is also much improved. The lift he has i believe is a Stinger which is made for lighter duty stuff but i have had a suburban on it before. His lift is not bolted to the floor and also has casters so it can be moved outside for using a pressure washer on the belly of your truck.

I recently purchased the BendPak HD9XW. I have used it to work on my '02 GMC 4 door short bed, '82 GMC standard cab long bed, '03 Denali xl, and my '57 porsche. No problems lifting any of those. I have a 12'6" ceiling in my shop and I can lift it all the way to the top locks with the porsche on top and some extra stuff for storage and still park the '82 under it. The '82 sits on 265/75/16's and has a Brahma top that is slightly higher than the cab, so it sits approx 80" tall.
I have to deflate my rear air bags in order to get it to barely fit. Don't ask me how I know.
I leave it on the widest setting and made two platforms out of 3/4" plywood and 2x4's for storage. The platforms sit flush with the runways.
The lift is not bolted to the floor even though they sent every thing for it. I like to be able to move it possible with the dolly kit.
There is no need to bolt it to the floor and your standard garage floor thickness (3.5") @ 3500psi will be fine.
You can get a lot of info on these at www.garagejournal.com in the general garage section.

I've got a Two Post 12# Rotary that I wouldn't trade for it's weight in gold. I've used 4 post, in ground, and midrise and am so happy to be working on a two post. Frees up a lot of space, don't have to drive up on it so when you have to get under the hood, it's not another foot higher. The tires are free to get off w/out any additional lifting or jacking. It's 14' and I can walk under a full size truck w/o ducking If I want to lift it that high. I routinely pull other vehicles under one on the lift to get them closer to my box with plenty of room to spare and feel safe doing it.
