I notced my truck blowing some light colored smoke (looked white) under the 90hp setting, so I called Hypertech. They told me to check the other settings, and I noticed no smoke on either. I called them back, and they said it wasn't the programmer. I took the truck to the dealer, and everything (injectors) checked out fine (surprise, surprise..), so I called Hypertech back. Just got a bunch of Hmmmmmmmmm's. Now I have a $400 speedo re-calibrater, and have ordered The Edge.

Too bad your having problems!! Mine will blow black smoke :ro) on the highest setting and i like it!!! but definatly no white smoke. I have to really hit it to get her to smoke though. I assume your truck might do the same thing w/ a new programmer.

I've only had mine for about 4000 miles, but I've had no problems. Mine will blow black as well when I stomp on it:cool2: . I let my brother drive it the other day on stage 3 and now he's seriously thinking about trading in his '04 Silverado 4x4 V8 6.0 gasser.;)

Love my hypertech. Mine does not put out a whole lot of black somke, only for a few second when hitting WOT. What could I stack mine with to get some extra power without messing anything up?

$250. Keep in mind however, mine has been sent back for a re-calibration, and if your truck doesn't have the latest software upload from GM, it may not work. Hell, even if you do have the latest upload, it may not work.
I think it may be a gamble on your part :)

Not too impressed from my limited light towing experience and less impressed after seeing the dyno results. Level 2 Juice is a stronger and better tune than the Stage 3 Hypertech...

let us know if the edge doesn't blow white smoke at the same setting, good luck and sorry about your h'tech. do you have a friend that has a d'max ? try it on theres to confirm its pooched.
