My fathers truck listed above in the title , will not run but it will start ,has been sitting since friday due to him not feeling so well over the weekend , it has been the coldest time of the year the past 3 days and the truck has never sat longer then overnight ,since new...my questions are the truck will start and run for a 3-5 minutes then shut off like no fuel...if the fuel is gelled what should i do...i now have the truck plugged in,, do i need a new fuel filter? new diesel fuel? and a diesel additive for the fuel gelling issue? we have an extra vehicle so its no big deal. should i get the truck in the garage to warm up. we are expecting 45-63 weather the next 3-4 days.. im located in southern indiana. thanks in advance..

I Would Keep It Pluged In And If You Can Get It In The Garage. What Was The Temps There. I Ask Because I Live In Alaska And It Has Been 10- 18 Degrees Out For Two Weeks Droping Down To 5 Degrees At Night. When Was Last Time Fuel Filter Was Changed. I Would Look Into That. Maybe Drian The Filter On Seen If Any Water Comes Out.

Best thing if you can wait is to put it inside to warm up or wait for the warm days.
After it finally starts try draining the fuel filter to make sure theres no water in there and put some diesel conditioner in the tank and let it run for a while to get it into the filter and the fuel lines.
