hey, so i took my truck up to the local aamco to check out what i thought was a axle seal leak on the pass side, but it turns out that they said it was not the seal but the steering line connecting the power steering pump to the hydro booster had a small leak and had dripped some fluid onto the axle, so it looked like the seal was leaking. so they toped off the fluids it had not leaked much at all, but my question is that i am planning on leaving for at trip from florida to virgina tomorrow afternoon and am wandering if this is somethig that i really need to try to fix before i leave, it will be cold were i am going and i will be there untill friday, what do you guys think?
thanks

also do you guys think some leak stop will work? I cannot see anything dripping on the garage floor at night so it can't be that bad right?

my hydroboost has had a weep for the past year and all i do is keep an eye on ps fluid.. there is a company that has a kit to reubild the hydroboost assembly for about 50$+s/h at my oriley exch on hydroboost is 177$..
drive it but keep an eye on fluid levels on each fillup..

If it is a slow leak no! How fast does it leak? Does it leak all your fluid out of the power steering system in less than say 200 threw 300 miles? If not even close to this than you should be fine on your trip. Take some extra fluid with you on the trip and check it every time you stop for Diesel. As long as the fluid stays at a safe level you should be fine.

Have a fun and safe trip!

ok thanks thats what i figured but just wanted to make sure that a slow leak would not turn into a big leak then i'm screwed on the side of the road. I bought some lucus ps stop leak so maby that will work. thanks
