If you add a couple of pieces to it Pressure reg spacer and a good converter

Tunning is going to play a big role in the way your truck shifts. In my opinion you'll be fine with a SC III. There are many members here running over 500hp with a III with no issues.

Here is something that no one tells you.
The Suncoast or ATS kits are clutch and performance upgrades only. This is not a rebuild guys. With high mileage you may have needle bearing problems and internal seal problems that were not meant to be addressed with these hp kits. You will need to be sharp enough to spot these problems or find a professional that can. Look out and be carefull. This is a bif investment. Bunch of guys here claim it' easy. I say bullshit. I did not require training and still do to do easy shit. Be carefull.

Mike is correct, they are upgrades. You should always inspect internal components, install the gasket and seal kit to take care of the internal seal issues etc, just like all pro builders do when we build a unit. For the guys doing it themselves, there is info out there that explains that and, the vendor they got there parts from should be able to offer assistance and answer any questions they may have, no question is a dumb one. As far as easy ,,as far as teaching someone to build a unit I would choose this unit over any out there. Dodge and Ford are a much more complicated build.
