I just bought a new truck. I was going down the road at 45 mph and it died with only 100 miles on it. No rough engine, sputtering, missing, just died. I was lucky, I was able to coast into a gas station. After I stopped I tried to start it and smelled fuel and saw a small puddle under the engine. Called the dealer and they had it towed. They looked at it today and said #3 injector was cracked and the fuel was leaking. Evidently it is rare because they wouldn't send out a replacement injector until the mechanic talked to a GM engineer. They said it wouldn't start unless the pressure was 11,000 pounds and that it normally ran at 15-16,00 lbs and the leak made it drop below this pressure. It might have happened when the injector was manufactured.

Any comments about this from the experts would be welcome. :help2:

After 5 days, no responses. I guess I won't waste my time here anymore.

Don't be sour, sometimes it can take a little longer to get an answer than expected; but this is the greatest community on the net. You will be hard pressed to find a group of people that can help you as much as the DP can. Give it a day or two more; it might be that someone is trying to find an answer or you may have just stumped us! But at least someone here has now heard this situation so if it happens to someone else we will have more to say about it to help them!

Sounds like they diagnosed your problem. Maybe I missed your questions in your original post. What kind of comments were you hoping to solicit with your original statement?

What they told you is pretty much the way it is. If it dosnt reach that pressure, the truck wont start. You can even have a loose nut on the injector line and they wont start, you wont even see fuel leak sometimes. I really dont know what kind of answer or input you really were looking for?
