I downloaded some of (1fastmax) LB7 tunes off here.. Im not sure what year his truck is, I want to download them on to my buddies 01 LB7 tomorrow. I think all his tunes are 02 OS. I don't HAVE TO script any of those tunes do I? Or do I since I don't know what year his truck is? As long as its a LB7 tune that Im tryin to load onto another LB7 does it matter about scripting? If Im tryin to load a LBZ tune onto say a LLY then Id have to script it right?

you have to do scripting on any tune that has a differant os number. pull the tune out of your friends truck. save it. know look at the os number. if they are the same then just check stuff like tire size and fuel tank size then do a parcial flash. if you have anymore questions just pm me

Our software allows for full flashing so you can flash that LB7 tune into your truck.
You probably shouldn't do it though - if their is a vehicle options mismatch between the 2 trucks you could end up with issues like AC/Climate control failing to work correctly and some other functions stopping. Unfortunately you won't know until you run the truck, which is why scripting was developed. This way you apply the changes you want to your truck's OS.

Be careful with other peoples tunes. Go easy.
Scripting is your best bet. Working off the trucks stock tune will most often work out better than trying to switch tunes around.
Scripting is for applying changes from one tune to another when they have different "operating systems". I don't think the year really matters as long as its the same generations motor. You won't be able to script LBZ tunes to an LB7 or vice versa. Lots of the tables are different etc. Lots of the LB7 and LLY tables are the same but in a few cases it won't work out very good. If you want to transfer portions of a tune when they are different motors you should copy the tables individually. Still be careful that the units are the same in both tables and that the tables are used for the same purpose and measurements. For example, you might be copying a fuel pressure table and in the LB7 it goes up by 10MPa every cell, but in the LBZ it goes up by 10MPa per cell for a bit and then makes some 15 or 20 MPa jumps... just a fake example.
So to make 1fastmax tunes work in your truck or your buddies truck you should apply the changes in the downloaded tune to the trucks tune. If they are the same OS you can use the tune comparison feature in EFILive to apply the changes from one tune to another. If they are different OS's, run a script.
And yea, be careful with random downloaded tunes.
