has anyone ever heard of seen or done a conversion of an indirected diesel engine to a direct injected engine by installing different injectors (ie 6.9 or 7.3 direct injection) resetting injection timming and porting/removing the injector passages in the combustion chambers. If this is possible a turbo 6.2 or 6.5 could cheaply make duramax or powerstroke power levels.
