I've had new gears installed and had the abs recalibrater from true speed installed as well and they state that you will get an occasional abs light and chime when you stop which i do, however it seems to be more than occasional for my tastes and was wondering how to disable the chime, the lights dont bother me i can deal with that but the chime has got to go....
thanks for the help

what year truck is it?
if its a 2003+ truck the only way you are going to get rid of the chime is to buy an aftermarket radio.

Sounds like a poor design for that adapter. It does not address the WSS signals from the front wheels. You need a reprogramming, not an adapter on one of the ABS signal sources (there are three).
IMHO, that device will never work correctly. Someone please chime in (pun intended) and tell me I'm wrong.
This thread is a little vague on correcting your problem http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/showthread.php?p=3005269#post3005269 but it sure sounds like Nor-Cal Nick can help. Are you out there Nick???

Its a 2006, i wish i would have read all the fine print from true speed cause they say in the installation manual that you will get an occasional chime from the abs. How will an aftermarket stereo fix that problem? is the chime part of the stereo?

The chime is "fed" into the factory stereo through the databus. It is "fed" the same as your key in reminder, your headlamp on reminder, etc. By installing an aftermarket stereo, the "required" adapter for your new stereo will have a seperate speaker for the above listed chimes. Simply cut the wire to the adapter's little speaker.
But, and here's a thought. Fix the system Correctly. 1st, send that true speed adapter back. 2nd, have someone flash the new gear ratio using a Real Programmer (Efi Live, among others). Then have a Tech II reprogram the ABS on your truck.
Seriously, aren't the brakes one of the most important systems on your truck? My greatest concern would INCREASED stopping distances, especially in a panic situation, that will result in injury to you or your property, DUE to some POS adapter that will never work correctly.

The abs works great the only time the light and chime come on is when your at a complete stop, ive stomped on the brakes numerous time when i installed this to make sure and it has no affect on the performance just gets annoying hearing this chime every so often. is there a way to cut the wire on the factory stereo to do the same thing and disable the chime...
