on my 6 speed what is the highest rpm that i can run when i am accelerating.

i think my question really is is there a revlimiter where i can't blow my motor if am not paying attention and forget to shift soon enough.

i havent had a standard n about 3 years. very forgetfull sometimes

Your rev limiter will kick in before any damage occurs, but you should be shifting well before that.

I think you can go up to 3700RPM. Personaaly I would't do it though.

My 02 Six speed will not go over 3400 RPM while accelerating, I've tried every gear:) .

As long as you are accelerating you can't get any where near the mechanical limit of these engines with the stock rev limiter. About the only way you could would be by downshifting into far too low a gear.

You are correct, my pickup will hit just under 3400 RPM before it's goverened. I've had it well over 3500 a few times though while coming down hills with a trailer. Scared me at first, but I guess as long as it's not an outrageous RPM it's okay do to every now and then.
