My dad is ready to pull the trigger on an 08 LT1 CCSB. The dealer is taking $14,500 off the sticker and giving him $18,500 for his 05 CCLB with 87,000 miles. His 05 is like an lt2 equivelant. Is this a good deal? What are you guys seeing lately as far as deals go.

What they are paying for the trade sounds pretty good considering. But you can probly get it cheaper from the GM dealer as they are going out of business. if you can wait, you can prolly get a 2009 for less in 7-8 months.

That's what I'm wondering tannerjpowell. What do yall think will happen with gm? Could get pretty ugly...The dealer my dad is working with is pretty much begging and I think my dad is giving in but I was encouraging him to wait to see what happens. He is getting a good price for his used truck. In the future u may see the new ones drop in price but so will the used ones I would suspect....Bah what do I know, I'm only 21.

exactly, if they lower the price on new trucks then surely the price for a trade will be drastically less too so in 7-8 months u may only get $13000 for ur trade...if he can i would do it regardless of what happens

I dunno... i think a lot of people using these for work truck will be seeking out older ones that don't have to meet EPA requirements since they are cheaper and easier to work on and operate.
The old ones should hold their value and may even go above the new ones. Consider also that since there are more old ones on the road and bugs are worked out/around parts availability may be greater.
For the newer trucks, some improvements may never come. If GM goes under their warranties may not be honored.

I just bought a 4X4 LT2 2500 ext cab short bed today for 31,000 with no trade, It's unvelievable what they are selling them for. I paid almost that much for my 1996 ext cab short bet LTs 6.5 diesel. I could have gotten a 2x4 LY2 for about $28K with a couple of less items on it.
