Hi all. There seems to be a pretty good collection of experienced audiophiles/installers here, so here goes:

I have an old Alpine amp that seems to work well, but I've had it about 4 years, not too heavy use. Maybe this is a longshot, but is it still good? Should I have it tested, or not worry about it? Do these things deteriorate normally?

thanks!

If it works fine, run it. I had one of Alpine's cheapest amps in my last car that I bought in 92 that worked fine when I got rid of the car in 03...

It should be ok. Evwn if it doesn't work you can always rebuild it. Don't throw it out even if it doesn't work sell it. A lot of guys look for that older stuff.

You could take it to a shop and have it bench tested, if bad you can have them rebuilt if you like the amp.
