I've been reading a lot of different posts on this website for a while now just waiting to be able to post one having a diesel. I absolutely love this website. Everyone here seems so knowledgeable. Before I bought this truck, I was getting a little hesitent about buying a diesel, especially after reading about injector issues and such. Are there really a lot of problem with these trucks, or are they as reliable as many of you talk about? I figure there are a small amount of diesel owners that actually post threads (many more should), and a small amount of you all that post threads actually have problems. From what I have read, there seems to be a little more maintenance on deisels vs. gas, and I was just curious what you all do for regular maintenance. I've had this truck for a week now and every time I drive it, I just have this grin that I can't get rid ofhttp://dieselplace.com/forum/images/smilies/hihi.gif ! Now I know what you all are talking about. I just can't wait to tow our trailer up a hill.

Jerry01, you my friend win "hands down" for having the most patience, resistance, whatever the ???? you call it. You joined the DP in September 2003 and waited this long to buy your truck! :ro)

The injector issues seem not to be as prevalent on the LLY's as the LB7's, heck even the LB7's seem to have their act together for the most part. All vehicles will have issues, you are correct in that most of them get posted on sites like this. What better place to gain valuable intel and facts on these trucks. :)

That "SEG" aka "sh_t eating grin" your sporting is common amongst the DP boyz! Just stay away from the Power and Performance forum and you'll be happy with your stock LLY. There are Diesel Pushers on that forum that can talk you into a bunch of mods you don't need, OR DO YOU? ):h

Gotta go, back to the P/P forum for another fix! Later. JJ :)

Leave it stock, leave it stock, leave it stock. Best 3 pieces of advice I can give you. You'll save yourself a bunch of money and headaches. Pretty much stick with the maintenance schedules that come with the truck and it will do just fine. You might want to change out some of the lube fluids at shorter intervals than recommended.

like AKA said LEAVE IT STOCK. Durability and longevity upgrades are good. But all that HP crap will cost you a LOT of money.

Glad to see I'm not the only one preaching STOCK as the way to stay.

Leave it stock because.....

More performance = Less durability & Less longevity

Glad to see I'm not the only one preaching STOCK as the way to stay.

Picked mine up Wednesday. Got the cap and bedslide in, loaded it up with my tools & equipment Thursday & Friday. What a pleasure to drive and work out of. Will be towing the boat this weekend. Can't wait. The truck is awesome. The only thing left for me is SEG removal surgery.
