This applies to us guys who are running J/A at the 90hp setting or lower.

J/A level 1 to 4 (90 hp tops)
smoke level 5
defuel on all locked shifts

Playing from 0-60 mph. (traffic)

If I play in the 90 hp setting and DO NOT use T/H, am I hurting the trans clutches or the converter? My thoughts say no to the clutches but maybe the converter, since it is unlocked and using fluid coupling???

If I play in the 90 hp setting and DO use T/H, then I will probably hurt the trans clutches and the converter clutch, right?

I am currently saving for the trip to Mike's, but want to minimize the damage until then. I "know" that the 90 hp is "safe", just wondering if I can make it safer? Please, no comments about removing the J/A, that would be cruel and unusual punishment.

I believe what you hurt in the converter is the LU clutch. Line pressure does drop when you lock up the converter so when the converter locks up there is less pressure applied to holding the clutches. Also remember that even if your not in TH mode you are locking up at WOT. Survey says......drive to Mike's now and dont worry about it:D

If I was better friends with MC or Visa I would. For some reason they don't like me now!? ;)

If you must play, play in T/H.

If you must play, play in T/H.

Could you explain why? :iamwithst Need to change this smiley to say "I am STUPID!" At least on this aspect of trans workings. ;)

You have a much better coupling between the engine and the trans when the converter clutch is locked. You run cooler when the converter clutch is applied.
Call me if you have more questions.
