There is no such thing as a best "stack", just user preference. Although you will find that most people that use big stacks with the best results use the quad 215 stacked with the Edge Hot Juice. They go really well together and make good power. Some people even put it up with the TTS Extreme but once again I think it's all about user preference.

The Quad and the Juice are both common tuners and can be purchased off the shelf. As the TTS Extreme you have to put your name on a waiting list and it has no resell value.

As far as what "Stacking" tuners there are three major types of tuners that can be stacked.

1. first is a "box" which intercepts the signals going from the computer to the sensors by plugging into your factory harness and modifies the information that is sent, injector timing, injector pulse, ect....

2. second is a programmer, these plug into your OBDII port on the inside of the cab. These tuners actually reprogram the information that is contained in the computer to also change injector timing and pulse width, most often times the "Programers" offer much more features like code reading and diagnostics checks on injector rates and can reprogram tire size and remove stock speed limiters.

3. third is a pressure "box" Like the duramaximizer which can be stacked with both the programers and the "boxes" all it does is add more fuel rail pressure to add more fuel during each injector pulse.

So stacking different types of boxes does different things but usually stacking a program and a box will create too much injector timing and will require some testing to get a good mix.

Stacking:

Using more than one tuner to increase HP or change engine behavior.

Types of tuners:

Harness boxes - Edge, VA, Six-Gun, etc. These plug into the two wiring harness bales on the drivers side of the engine. They alter the signals the PCM (engine computer) sends to the injectors to increase the timing and duration of the injector events. They CANNOT alter the speed limiter.

Pressure Boxes - TS Activator, Duramaximizer, etc. These plug into the harness OR the individual sensors to "fool" the engine computer into injecting more fuel. They cannot alter the speed limiter.

Programmers (aka downloaders, uploaders) - Predator, Power Pup, Superchips, Hypertech, etc. These upload new data tables into the PCM by plugging into the OBDII port under the steering wheel. You can change nearly every aspect of engine operation using these, including speedo correction/limiter.

Custom Tune - TTS Extreme, etc. These are custom tuned PCM's that you swap for your stock PCM. Like a programmer, they can adjust all engine parameters. Unlike the programmers, they are custom made to your needs.

You cannot combine a Custom Tune with a Programmer, as they both modify the data tables in the computer.

You can mix Harness, Pressure, and Custom Tune/Programmers. A common reason for stacking is that the Programmers/Custom Tunes will remove the top speed limiter and adjust for tire size changes, and the harness boxes won't.

For the LLY, I would start with Predator+VA stack. It will hurt your stock trans, as it is about 170rwhp over the stock.

Stacking: verb, The act of combining multiple tunes in order to make up for the fact that one tune cannot unlock all of the available power in your truck's PCM........The exception being the TTS Xtreme.....which all by itself makes more power than any stack.:eek:

I don't think you can sell it separately, your only options are to sell it with the truck.
