hey everyone i have a friend that has a 1990 1500 4X4 chevy that had a 6.2 in it, but he blew that motor up and now he has bought a 1983 chevy that has a 6.2 in it and he was gonna try and swap the motor into the 1990. will this work and if it is possible what kind of problems can be expected with it??

Shouldn't run into much trouble with the swap. Just make sure he uses all the accessory brackets from the 90, wires should hook up identical. He will need to swap his injection pump over as well. Be a real good time for new motor mounts too.

I wish all of my engine swap outs would have been as easy. The 1990 may have a serpentine belt so he will have to stay with all of the 1983 parts (alternator, power steering pump, etc.).
