I just installed the finger stick & blocker plate, Install went pretty good. I was able to strip the instalation by going around with a pocket knife and then using a razor blade to cut in insulation down the middle to expose the wire....those wires are sure small! I felt pretty good about the soldier job I did, I didn't think I was going to do that good of a job. I used heat shrink tubing on the yellow wire I cut on both ends but, had to use electrical tape on the other connections.Finished off everything with 1 inch wire loom anbd taped up everthing with high temp electrical tape.

Question: I took the truck out for a drive and I have driven for about 4 miles, and no light. If the light was going to come on would it had already came on already or is it to soon?? I have already done 5 igintion cycles and no light.:exactly:

Any respone to this ? is grestly appreciated;)

I would like thank "FINGERS" for taking the time and designing & manufacturing these great little items!:D

thanx, JLew

Also I fail to mention that when lossening the 12mm bolts on the egr unit, It is much easier to stand on the drivers side and to work between the engine & firewall. Working on the passenger side is hard to loosen the bolt and I was afraid of bending the tranny dipstick. One more word of advice....shove a rag down between the exhaust & heatshield......I almost dropped my ratchet down there and good thing I had the rag in there.

The plate will code the engine right away if the stick isn't doing it's job.

Is there any problem with making the wires on a fingerstick longer? Eventually, I will kill the kitty and block the EGR, at which time I'll need a fingerstick, but I would like to BURY it somewhere so there would be next to zero chance of it being found if I had to take it to a dealer for some reason. I'm anal that way... There would be almost no chance of finding my high idle mod unless someone where to REALLY dig under the dash. There is no sign of it under the hood, unless you look REALLY close and pull apart a wire loom or two.

You can extend the wires to any length you want. It will not affect the operation of the Stick as long as you hook it up correctly.

Instead of starting another thread, I thought I might get an answer in this one. I was wondering if someone that has installed a stick on a 05 can confirm that the wires are the same color as in the how to post. I'm just paranoid that I am going to get the wrong wires.

thanks

You must be very careful. As it says in the instructions, go by the wires position in the connector, not the color.
