I'm going to buy 17's this winter. I plan on running 33/12.5s My question is, I am looking at centerlines, all their wheels have 4.5 backspacing for the ones I am looking at. Will this clear alright? I'm looking at 17x8s

IMHO, Based on the fact that these wheels will be 1.5" wider than your stock Aluminum 16" PYO's and have .50" less backspacing this Centerline wheel will be about 2" further out of your wheel well than the PYO's. I would think with a 33" tire on a stock height truck(If that's what it is)you may have rubbing issues and in order to avoid them you might have to do some trimming. The wheels will work fine, I think the tire size might be a problem.

I'd be more concerned with Offset for fitting vs. backspacing. If you ever want to lift the truck, some lifts require minimum backspacing. Those wheels should fit fine, LMM's are a tighter clearance issue, mine cleared with 9" wheels and negative offset. Positive offset, tucks under truck, like stock. Negative offset, pushes toward the outside (Deep look). Chris

Offset and backspacing are the same thing, just different ways of indicating where the wheel sits in relation to the hub face.

Backspacing is the direct distance from the hub face to the inside wheel lip.

Offset is the distance from the hub face to the center of the wheel.

So to find where the wheel sits in under your fender you still need to know wheel width and then compare it to stock specs and see how much further in each direction the wheel will sit.

I would rather have the wheels tuck under the truck, but I don't think that I could have anymore backspacing than stock, especially with the 33/12.5s, as my 285s rub on the sway bars right now at tight lock. I don't mind trimming, I just don't want to mount them up and find out the hard and expensive way they won't work.
