They wont dim in sync. LEDs require alot less power and will be brighter than the inc. dash bulbs. I went to radio shack to buy a potentiometer to make my own but it was going to be like 9 in parts and I was annoyed by the staff who wanted to know what I was going to use it for and wanted my phone number even tho I was paying cash. It was worth it to just get the autometer one.

I bought a autometer dimmer control from dieselmanor.com. If you go to duramaxforum.com and look up my threads I have a whole big thread with how I run your. I love it. user name mromoney

You could also do it for about a $1.00 if you go to Radio Shack and get a 330 ohm resistor and add it in line with the dimmer switch wire.
