Yes, you can kill defuel using table D5197 in the TCM. If you're running stock or a small tune, it'll probably be fine (However, it may reduce the life of the clutches). I'm running a small, 90ish HP tune with defuel disabled, and IMO it shifts FAR better than with defuel once it learned. Just watch for a CRAZY 1-2 if/when you first disable defuel and reset TAPs. Mine flared and SLAMMED the 1-2 for the first 12-20 shifts, requiring me to do a lot of gentle 1-2 shifts (although that could be because of the 06 VB being controlled by a 5sp TCM). HOWEVER, if you're running anything big, you run the risk of a tie-up, thus requiring you to pick up the pieces of your transmission off of the road surface . Use at your own risk.
