The Tekonsha Prodigy is one of the best brake controls i have ever used it can handle up to 4 axels and is realy simple to set up. you can also take it out of the vehical as a security feature. http://www.tekonsha.com/prodig.html some people sware by the brake smart which i would be tempted to try other than it requires drilling into the brake resivor. so the short answer is the best plug and play brake control is the Prodigy.

The Brake Smart T's into the exhisting brake supply line. All harware is supplied. Takes about 10 minutes to remove stock line, install T, reinstall stock line, and add pressure line and sensor. Run the wire in the cab and your done with the brake pressure install.

I just finished installing the Brake Smart. I haven't had a chance to test it yet, but hopefully soon. The install is no harder than the Prodigy. It just takes a couple minutes more for the brake line T.

Before the Brake Smart I used a Prodigy. Great controller. The only reason I'm running the Brake Smart on this truck is to try something new.

I've run both. The BrakeSmart is a full step better the Podigy, and the Prodigy is a very good controller. If you tow a lot or heavy, the BrakeSmart is worth the money IMO.

The prodigy is easy. Seemed like the hardest part was drilling the pilot holes for the mounting brakets, poor new plastic dash...

I use the Prodigy and am happy with it.

Brakesmart.

Like Fingers, I've had the Prodigy on another truck. It is good, but nothing like true proportional control that the Brakesmart unit provides.

A very impressive unit.

no drilling with the brakesmart, there is a threaded adapter used for the master cylinder coupling. look at the install directions on their site for pictures. only problem with brakesmart is availabiity sometimes, worth the wait IMO.

Another vote for Prodigy.

Question on the brakesmart, if you broke the line in the brakes to install the T didnt you have to bleed the brakes?

Bleed at the T-fitting.

very minimal bleeding, and as above you open the tee to bleed. most folks that go to brakesmart from a prodigy have only very positive comments.

3rd truck with Prodigy. Easy to install, and never a problem. Just my .02.

I just ordered my 2500HD D/A CC this morning. I will move my Prodigy from my Ford. Where do people typically mount them? Any pics?

No pics but i mounted mine just under the plastic cover of the dash, there is a little metal lip maybe 1/2 inch drilled to holes and mounted the plastic carrier for the prodigy, it is right above and to the right of the fuel pedal at bottom of the dash. I have a bench seat and didnt want to drill into the plastic, I toyed with the idea of mounting in the ash tray location but decided it was to much work to make it look right
