So after I installed my RS9000's I began noticing a "clunk-clunk" or "squeek" everytime the rear hit an expansion or pavement joint in a parking lot at slow speeds. I found that the bushing sleeves on the shocks were of a larger I.D. that the stock shocks. I had snugged the bolts down good but didn't want to over do it and crush the brackets against the shock bushings. This allowed the shocks to move up and down in the bracket as the bushing was larger diameter than the bolt passing through them. Tightened the rear shocks up TIGHT and noise went away and hasn't returned since.
Forward a couple weeks and I began hearing a noticable "clunk" in the front suspension when I hit bumps at slow speeds. This noise sounded a lot like the old steering shaft noise (mine has been replaced per TSB). Got to looking around and thought I'd check the front shocks. Tightened the top and bottom mounts pretty tight yesterday and drove the 140 mile trip to the area I grew up for Easter holiday. Noise is gone. Didn't hear it once the entire trip.
Something to think about if you have the Rancho RS9000 shocks and have suspension noises.
