went to autozone to get a new serpentine belt today and they said "with a vacuum pump or not?" this is my first diesel so i have no idea. tryed cross the GM belt but no dice. like to get the gatorback belt. my truck is a 2004 LB7 any ideas? :o:

If its a california emissions truck it has a vacuum pump. If your truck has EGR then it has a vacuum pump. If no EGR then no pump. Hope that helps

And most likely the 105 amp alternator. Look on top of it for the rating.

I have fleet emissions package on my 04 lb7 so I guess I have a vac pump? I think the Cali/Fleet emissions are the same right?

had trouble with other serpentine belt until i purchased a gator belt and no more problem. I would go thru a belt a year, had the aligment check and recheck and no proble. Bad belts, i had them relpaced at our local chevrolet garage and when i went to a local garage and they infom me about gator belts all no problem since. Bad supplier for chevy or another product made in china
