Looked Hi and Low, can't seem to find anything better than an OEM replacement:banghead:. Suggestions, anyone?

Well, I don't have a source as to where to get one, but I can offer this suggestion: When my engine was rebuilt, the builder simply replaced my plate with a new, OEM one. We talked about lots of stuff and he said there was really no need for one that is bigger. Now, in saying that - what are you planning on doing with your engine? Something really drastic? I can't say that I've ever heard anyone else talk about this before.
If you just need one, you're welcome to my old one (95,000 miles).

I just broke the third OEM flex plate, the new one will be # 4 and I really don't want to do a fifth one. It's a long story... I'm in the process of replacing my motor and don't want a week link. 500+ ft pounds of torque is allot of stress, I'm surprised more people don't have problems with them breaking.

lost with out spark plugs

If you are braking that many flex plate you have other problems. Missing dowels, miss welded convetor, loose bell housing bolts.

No offense and I appreciate the input but :duh:
To make a long story short.

Bad motor and tranny mounts + performance upgrades + towing track-hoes = shirred bell housing bolts = cracked bell housing = first broken flex plate. All of the above = bad thrust bearing and torque converter = second broken flex plate. All of the above = worn rings and excessive blow bye = broken flex plate #3. At least I'm hoping that was the cause of the last failure.

Note; Repairs were made and lessons learned at each breaking. #1 & 2 broke within 500 miles of each other while #3 lasted another 20K. = SOL = time for a new motor.
