Short story... I am working 1200 miles from home, snow covered roads muddy roads a little off roading (not playing). All the sudden gear selector will not indicate what gear truck is in. Driving down the road and third gear selector starts flashing and truck starts reving (no power). After I pull over and put it in park it has power again. A few minutes later there is a large clunk. Obviously I need to see a dealer but what could it be? I guess its a good thing I got the extended warranty...

After reading a little in the allison forums other people have had the same problem. They think the problem is the NSBU switch. If anyone has any other ideas let me know. Will it hurt anything if I continue to drive the truck until monday when a dealer is open?????

The symptoms will get worse. Pretty soon it will become a real bear to drive.
Drive as little as possible and replace as soon as possible.

Transmission shot? Nah just a NSBU or neutral safety switch. It's located on the drivers side of the Allison with a few plug in electrical connections depending on year.
Sounds like it got wet it happens a lot.I do believe there is a new and improved model out ,I remember seeing a post. It's a easy do it yourself fix if you can get the part.
Good luck
