My rig weighs in at 9600 lbs. "empty". It seems to me that I am doing the engine, brakes, and tranny a favor by running in Tow/Haul when not on the open highway. I would like to have it start out in "Tow/Haul" mode rather than "Normal". Has anyone done this or have a plan on how to accomplish it?
Thanks.

I guess that I am on my own. If anyone else is interested, let me know and I'll post what I find out.

I just push that little button on the end of the shift lever. ;)

Sounds to me like your excceeding the GVWR of your rig already. That means you have to run along side it and steer thru the open window. :D So much for a payload.

Since I have additional leaves, HD torsion bars, 16x8" steel rims, Timbren rubbers, and Revo E's, I figure that I am really a 3500 in disguise.Oh, I also removed the "2500HD Duramax" sticky on the side so my conversion is complete. :) Of course, DMV has me down for a mite less GVW. :D
I am the payload ! :driver: Now, when I load up with an extra 160 gal. of fuel (210 total) and thirty gal. of water for the Canning Stock route iI might be pressing it a bit. Most of that trek, though, will be in 4WD Low.
