this is the girlfriends truck, it had a bit of a stalling issue a while back so i swapped the fuel filter, it was the stock one and it was full of black fuel when dumped. now every once in a while the truck is absolutly gut less like a old furd gutless. so i am thinking it is either the fuel pump or the cat is backed up(happened on buddies dodge). or am i missing something? can you gut or cut the cat out on these trucks? any help is appreciated thanks in advance

I would try changing the filter again. But it sounds like the pump is going bad. When it comes time to change it, make sure you flush out the fuel tank.

you might wanna check your fuel pressure regulator...its on the driver side fuel rail with a little hose attached to it that goes up under the engine cover...try pulling the little hose off it and see if gas comes out of it or if it smells like gas...if so its bad and not giving your truck proper fuel pressure to the injectors...give that a shot and let us know whatcha find out...

yeah i think i got er figured she told me she let it idle for like 15 mins today in the morning then it started the no power thing so i thought it might be like the blue tec dodges so i took it for a good highway run and it seems to be running a hell of alot better so another one chalked up to the cat

This is the standard Fuel pressure regulator problem. Runs good now shitty later. Check the hose, spend the $100 and get some honey from the girl for being so smart and fixing her vehicle.
