Those of you with the black faced gauges (Z series or Sport Comp).... Can you read the gauges easily at night? Seeing how they are backlit and the needle isn't lighted. I plan on getting pillar mount gauges. I had a Sport Comp on my camaro SS, but it's been two years since I wrecked it I don't remember if I could read it at night. Thanks in advance

They work fine. Quality gauge.

I have the Z-series and at full bright they are more than adequate. I, however have them tapped into my dimmer and there is a 'sweet spot' that if I get below they can be hard to read.

I've driven a Dmax with the black face Autometer gauges and I am sorry to say, the lighting was not that great. The gauges were mounted on the windshied post. The dimmer had to be turned to bright in order to see the unlit needle. The light shines in the drivers eyes since the gauges are mounted at eye level.
