Anyone else noticed a buzzing sound from their WG Sol? I knew they made some noise while operating, but I could hear mine 10ft away so I changed it and the new one is exactly the same.
So if anyone out there needs one, you can have this one ;)

Yeapper I've heard that exact same thing but mine went away with the new one.

Why didn't my new one fix it then? They both operate perfectly fine and just alike?

No, I have 3, but only the one for the WG was making a noise.

TDG:
I think the noise is normal....Its basically a little on/off switch that is activated at different rates, or duty cycle, by the computer to control the vacuum that the wastegate actuator sees.
Because the solenoid only has two positions, on and off, or vacuum and no-vacuum, the only way for it to provide an amount of vacuum in-between is to cycle on/off at different rates and that is what you are hearing. If you have your old one cut it open and check it out. Its really a very brilliant idea in its simplicity. That's why I love GM products. I hope they make it through this global rough period. I really think they need to fire Wagoner.
Now I have a question, for my '94, the ACDelco catalog shows 2 different solenoids, on with a filter and one w/o a filter? Does anyone know the difference? Do they perform the same?

Filter is supposed to prevent the shuttle\armature from sticking\rusting - but, it don't.............

I've had my WG sol unplugged since I removed the vac pump. It appears that with a veraible to resist the MAP(with three wires), ECM doesn't notice it gone. When you finally get an F engine prom, the vac can stay in the garage.

The wastegate solenoid without the filter is cheaper and works just as well.
