i know you really should upgrade your air flow system first on your truck. but i was curious i am going to put a afe stage ii, mbrp exhaust, and a edge juice/attitude, at the moment i can only up grade the intake and exhaust or the progrmer. which would get me better mpg increase. i want the intake and exhaust first but that power sounds good from the edge.

I would go with the edge first without a doubt.

Actually, the air system works just fine on these trucks, unless you're trying to squeeze every last hp you can get out of it....Stock air cleaner does just fine.....Personally, I'd do with the exhaust first then if you want to add a programmer have at it...For the $$$ that an aftermarket air cleaner assembly costs, I just don't think the return on investment is that good..
And that's my two pennies worth as an opinion....:)

Just so you know there are lots of people who run the edge/attitude on a stock exhaust system.

OMHO get the intake and exhaust first. Then get the Programmer. Start saving for the Tranny upgrade. By then you wont be an Enthusiast anymore.

You can get the muffler cut out and have it straight piped for about $60, then I would do the programmer. That should help with the cost and help with flow and MPH. Just my .02

I have not done intake or exhaust, but I have tried both the Hypertech and Predator, both of which I like. I was happy with the performance and drivability with these upgrades with my stock air flow. I hope to have my gauges in tommorrow with the :cool2: Trippin overhead mount, and have ordered the MBRP catless pipe from Performance Diesel in MN. Keeping my stock muff to keep the noise down and hopefully enough back pressure to avoide the check engine light. Sounds like others such as Briano have had good success with that.

From what I have read (not talking from experience) unless I was really building up the power, I would not spend the $$$ on the intake.

Best bang for the buck will be a programmer of your choice...

I might as well add this in before juice does....

Go with E/J w/attitude for built-in gauges, EGT and tranny protection and either modify the exhaust as others have suggested or just upgrade to a 4" system. That should get us started on your truck! ):h JJ :)

Sounds about right! I did my 4" exhaust last week and the Edge J/A should be in by Wednsday (although your shipping results may vary). And I'll be damned if i haven't gone from "I'll never run hard eneough to need an ally upgrade!" to saving my pennies in less than a week. :grd:

This diesel stuff is way more addicting than I ever thought.:muahaha:

Passing the diesel pipe to the next guy.....-:t Need to find a dark place to sleep this off.
