I took my truck back to the dealer and took the tech for a test drive, he saw the blue smoke that i was talking about and said it might be the PCV valve trapping oil then putting it back into the engine and burning it. Anyone else had this problem, i dont really care i guess he said it couldnt do anything bad to my engine. This was the cause of the blue smoke on cold starts, and at stoplights that i was talking about. THANK God this is finnally worked out!!:) :) :) :)

Did it actually fix the problem? Or is it "don't worry. it won't hurt the motor"??

As far as I know the LB7 Duramax doesn't have a pcv valve.

It does have a vent that has a TSB out on it for some kind of plugging problem in cold climate.

Bad turbo seals? Wife's VW TDI has an oil consumption problem. Car has 25K on it and burns about a quart every 1K miles. VW won't fix it yet and has it on an oil consumption program (pixxing me off  ) and 3 VW techs say they'd bet their house on bad turbo seals. I haven't seen any posts regarding Duramax's having this problem however ...

Cant you take it somewhere and have it fail a gross polluter or smog law. Then they have to fix it.

If VW doesn't fix it soon I will be taking it thru the showroom window :)
We don't have smog laws/emission checks in the country I live in here in Oregon. The car doesn't smoke actually which doesn't help matters.

Mine was doing the same thing. Longer it sat idleing, more smoke there was. No SES lite. #8 injector was bad $960. later it quit smoking.

yeah, there is some valve. The tech said that it stores up oil and then dumps it into the engine at the wrong time, wich causes the oil consumption and blue smoke. Im not sure what there doing but im pretty sure there going to fix it or im just going to keep b*tching until they do.
