I dont want to go to a full intake (ie cone filter and differant box) I would like to just replace the stock intake tube. Is there a company I can get this from??

At the moment, I don't think so, but there is a possibility that any or one or the current aftermarket tubes might fit the stock box. Don't think anyone here has made mention of it..

Replacing your intake tube will net you nothing. The restriction is in the airbox/filter element itself. Dyno a AFE stage 1 and then dyno an AFE stage 2, most likely you will have the same numbers. I talked with a few manufacterers at the PRI show last winter and they all agreed (off the record of course) that the only reason that they include the tubes is beause thats what the customer wants to see. The adverage customer feels that the tube is restrictive and it actually isn't. See for yourself.

Carbon, I would have to disagree with your post that the stock intake tube isn't restrictive... I made my own intake tube and my turbo spool up is a hell of alot faster and I also get more boost (and whistle) I use the factory airbox and filter (with 21000 miles on it)

Carbon04,

I too, respectfully disagree. The stock airbox is most definitely the greatest restriction, but I have seen flow differences between an AFE stage 1 and stage 2.

I think Kennedy had told me or posted results of some flow testing he had done with different intake systems.

hmm.............I have no first hand experience/testing other then the reps that I spoke with. I can't see much of a gain though between the stage1 and 2. A few hp maybe? I put on an AFE stage1 a week ago. It did clear up A LOT of smoke and I gained 1psig. Will the stage 2 increase upon that, I doubt it.
