But with a twist, If I park my 08 out side I get the water in fule message. I have added antil gel/water dispersant, fuel is from large station and its the second tank. Truck runs fine, temps are right arounf 5 F, so it cold. If I park in the heated shop I dont get the mesage nor do I get it after the truck is ran for awhile. Bad sensor? Filter and truck only have 2.5 k. It is hard to get to the dealer, been plowing snow every other day for 2 weeks now. I thought about changing the filter. Any thoughts?

Certainly couldn't hurt at this point. I changed mine at 4k miles and found a little debris in the filter. All it takes is one bad tank of fuel, even from a brand name station.

It could also just be debris that is making the sensor stick and causing you to get the message (is the outside parking spot on a hill)..... my first filter had lots of crap in it that the second one didn't..... I just figured it was plastic crap from the tank ...manufacturing "leftovers" if you will....or you could have water freezing in the tank and making it to the filter then warming and causing the issue...have you left the truck in the shop and tried to drain it in the morning.......

Mine had a bad sensor. I changed filter at 1500 miles no water and the light was still on at times. Once they changed the sensor I have had no probs. You may want to use the filter drain just to be sure.

I'll bet the dealer paid you for the filter you put in for nothing:rolleyes:
