When I accelerate at high RPMs (27-2800) I hear the engine make a new sound, a clattering diesel sound it doesn't otherwise make. At the same time I see smoke from the exhaust, is this normal or do I need a reflash?

Mine does this too. I believe the actual point is 2500 and then pilot injection turns off so it sounds like a classic diesel motor (6.2) kinda. Any diesel will smoke a little at this RPM. But I don't think it should be a big black cloud or that noticable unless it is dark you will notice it a bit more when someones headlights are directly behind you.

I noticed mine did some weird sounds when it was stock or when I still drive it around stock. I actually hate this sound so I try to avoid it at all cost. With the programmers, it doesn't make any 'weird' sounds!!:ro) I take it the sound is normal.
