How long of a sending unit lead do I need to run a boost & egt gauge from the overhead opening above the rear veiw mirror of my 05 lly?

I just put my gagues in the overhead opening. I ran both wires down the passenger side pillar post and out the firewall on that side. Autometer pyrometer wire is 8 ft long. Perfect fit. If you wanted to run it out the drivers side you would need a 11-12 ft wire.

where did you run out the firewall on the passenger side? I hear there isnt any place to drill.

Here are some pics that show where I went through the fire wall on the passenger side. I found these pics on this site but I can not find the post again. There are only three screws holding the interior ducting in place. Remove those 3 screws and it drops down out of the way. I did mine this way because I did not want to lengthen the pyrometer wire. I ran my boost tube and pyromoter down the passenger post and the electrical downt the drivers side. Maybe the original poster of these pictures will see this and provide better images of the inside hole.

So you just move the duct, drill the hole, run your wires and put the duct back? Sounds simple enough. I would imagine it is the same on the LBZ?

I would think it would be the same. I center punched the firewall and used a small drill bit to make the hole and went thru the padding into the inside. Then used a larger pit to make the whole bigger on the firewall for a rubber grommet to fit. On the inside I used the same larger bit to make that hole large. Do not run the drill pit in more that the thickness of the rubber mate, there is insulation in there and the larger size bit will grab the insulation.

Just so happens I have those pictures in my garage. Wish I had used clear silicone on that grommet now

Glad I could help a few with that short pyro wire.
