Just wondering what happens when this transmission switch fails and if the truck is still driveable.

In my case, I lost my gear indicator light occasionally and the auto door lock/unlock would act up, but was still driveable. It then went to third gear only and "chugged" in reverse and the SES light came on. Changed NSBU, thanks Dmaxallitech, and all is well !!

same thing happened to my truck. i was impressed that i could drive the truck around with only 3rd gear:ro) . don't go to the dealer if you are going to change the part yourself. they wanted 165 dollars for the switch and i got it from the ally shop for 45. i know that it's covered under warranty but for 45 dollars and a half hour of my time is better than dropping truck off at dealer for a day!:)
