I decided that since I have to do head gaskets on my just purchased '83 Suburban, I'd do a valve grind on my spare set of heads. I noticed that several of the precups have cracks in them, but by some stroked of luck, there are NO cracks between the valves or around the exhaust seats!:)

I don't believe cracked precups would be anything to worry about, but I'd thought I'd better get a few opinions.

almost all of them crack. its not a problem as long as the cracks don't extend up past the fire ring of the gasket.
