My truck has developed an odd problem. The door dinger will cime sometimes just 2 or 3 times after shutting down the engine, but sometimes continually until I turn the ignition back on. Lights not on, green "key in ignition" wire has been cut, and I can make it stop by turning the volume on the sterio all the way down...Any clues as to what I'm dealing with here?

Nope. New batteries seem to have helped, but not cured the problem. Going to have to check wiring I suppose.

Try that and tell me how it goes. That is a weird problem but I know that some Stereo wiring harnesses have caused this type of problem. Good luck!:)

I was doing a search and I found one reference to this problem and one solution which seemed a little odd.It could have been BS but someone said it's caused by flicking your key off to fast and yankin it out.:eek: I'm willing to try anything , so I'll be turning the key off a little slower. I had the dealer look at the truck but they couldn't make it ding.It would be tough to find because as soon as you open the door to get out it goes away.
