Anybody know how to replace one of the steering wheel button lights? Is it an easy think to do. I really do not want to make the airbag go off just for a light. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the link... I will have to think if it is worth it to do it. I thought it would require no soldering. Thanks again.

So a guy might be able to pull them out without removing the steering wheel then. I hate to mess with the airbag..

I did not replace my lights, but just replaced the buttons themselves. The faces of my buttons were worn, and looked like crap.

The top two buttons can be done without removing the steering wheel, the bottom two, especially the left side, cannot. There is not enough slack in the wires, to plug them back in.

I know someone will say I am wrong, but in my case, I needed to remove the wheel. I too, was concerned about messing around with the airbag. It was a piece of cake. Not much different, than any other electrical device on the truck. The plug has a safety pin on it, and the connections are yellow.

Just be sure to disconnect the batteries, before pulling it apart. Upon reassembly, the airbag light will flash like (6) times to let you know the system is working properly.

Don't even need to disconnect the batteries, just pull the fuse to the airbags. It's not hard at all to pull the steering wheel and it just makes it all much easier.

Check out my tutorial on replacing the ignition switch. It shows you how to pull the airbag without disconnecting the batteries. Real easy. Shows what fuse to. Just pull fuse, unplug a connector under the dash, pull airbag from steering wheel, disconnect plug from airbag and your done. It's more or less how the helm's manual tells you how to do it. Very simple. Even I could do it.:)
