What would be the effects of running a snow plow on, say a M1009? Would I want to wire it to the 24 volt or 12 volt side of things? If I did go with the 24 V, what problems could I expect?

we have the same truck on our highway dept.we adapted a fisher hydraulic setup.it runs the pump from extra pulley that bolts easily to the balancer.then we fabricated a .25 thick plate that hangs from the left alt. mounting points.work slick.i might be able to send pics if your interested.

I've got 2 Western set-ups lying around, just waiting for a truck. I like the idea of the military truck auctions (cheap) but if there are major compatibility issues, I'll either have to go with civilian or (gasp) a gasser. Thanks for the reply though.
