Does anybody have any pictures of the block heater wire and plug on a 6.5L ? I've looked all underneath the front of this thing thinking maybe it's rolled up or taped or wired up out of the way somewhere with no luck. It came from a warm environment where it probably was never used before but it'll sure come in handy this winter here. Where is the block heater and where does the a/c lead come from ? I'm just assuming that all of these vehicles like this would have come with a block heater.

on my 95 suburban 2500 the power cord should be somewhere on the drivers side under the hood right above the driver side wheel well or around the fues relay box, sometimes it is hard to see with all the other wires there and it may have a cap on the plug, but it should be right in that area if your truck came with one from the factory.

Most of them come out over the core support by the driver's side headlight, you can trace it back from the block, the heater is in the DS frost plug, also check under the battery some people roll them up and stuff them there.

Drivers side of the block, at the rear of the motor mount, IRRC.

middle or rear DS frost plug...and then trace...if there isn't one, and it WILL be visible from underneath in a frost plug location, then punch out a frost plug(after draining the coolant...and it will still be messy, oh wait, great time for a coolant flush!) and install a block heater...and problem solved

Suggest you remove pass battery and dig around.

:thumb: Thanks for all the help guys, it helps to know where and what I'm looking for. There is a gray 110 volt power cord with an attached plug-cover on the end, on the drivers side of the engine close to the front - all folded up and tied down with GM tie wraps. Looks like it's never been used which is probably true since it came from corpus christi texas. I didn't trace it all the way back to the block but I'm kind of sure this must be the heater plug....

Actually I did not.

My plug comes out the grille on the pass side and I never bothered to trace it. I assumed that it was on the pass side. And you know what Benny Hill said about 'ass u me'. :idiot:

Sorry, you would have been looking for a long time on that side.:D
