New to the board, I like it so far,
I have a 2003 D/A and I had a hypertech programmer, liked it but it did't remove top speedlimiter, also i think the horse power numbers are on the consevative side, I went to the quadzilla with the 135hp max setting, I like the programmer but my truck detonates on evey setting, I never noticed this with the hypertech, is this a common thing? Am I looking for trouble?
36000 miles, no problems so far. straight pipe, k&n, bully dog shift kit, guages, amsoil.

The timing rattle is common on most of QUAD's tunes.........
It has been dubbed "RATTLECAN TECHNOLOGIES"..............
It makes a good HP# and will stack with a JUICE..............
Just buy a loud stereo and some ear plugs...........
As far as damaging anything............I know guys that have run that rattle everyday for 10's of thousands of miles...........
I am sure they will chime in............
Good LUCK.

Is it the latest revision?
Have you ever tried a 20% blend of biodiesel in the tank?
Are your injectors within specs?

I don't think it's the latest version, as far as biodiesel, is that like a octane booster? Thanks

never had the injectors checked, but on stock setting it goes away, and i even borrowed my old hypertech back and it doesn't do it on it's max setting. just nervous with the pinging. thanks again
i have been running kennedys 215 stacked with edge from levels 0 thru 5 and if there is timing rattle i do not notice it when i was running a differant version it was there but not that bad never had any issues with lower tunes offered from any version, try loading it again

If it goes away when the tuner is removed then you are correct in pointing at the tuner. My rattle nevr went away, turned out to be injectors were part of the problem.
Biodiesel has the best lubrication and also the possibillaty of a cetane rating that is 10 higher that #2 diesel. It really makes a Duramax quiet.
I had the rattle. I sent the tuner back to Quad. He updated the tuner. I had 8 injectors replaced while the tuner was back in Quadland.
Now I have reinstalled the tuner, the engine is suprizingly quite.
