: Finally getting my truck back

After two full weeks at the dealer I get my truck back. It was in for some warranty work like the DRL's burning up their sockets, oil leak, steering knock, pitman arm, idler arm, HVAC whistle, batteries barely cranking over in the cold So. Cal weather (Brrr 42F)... So whats gonna' happen when i hit 36,000 (only at 23,000 now) at least thats what I left it at the dealer with! Maybe some injectors at 36,001.
On edit it is going back 3/29/05 to repair the repairs they fixed first round. Now the overhead lights don't work the hvac still whistles they cut my steering wheel when they took out the dash now it rattles too, steering wheel don't lock up with key removed, overwound or unwound my clock spring(I can hear it tighten up on turns) BTW why on earth would they put 65 miles on the truck and use a 1/4 tank of fuel? I go that far to go to work.:damnit1:

Trade it in or sell. All these things built to get most thru the warranty period and then self destruct.

Oh yes thats right, the all have those little self destruct micro chips built into them:rolleyes:

Drive your truck and enjoy it, why worry. Be more worried about the other idiot drivers.

That's interesting, I just replaced the original pitman arm and idler arm and I have 127k miles.

Get the kinks worked out, then it will be a good truck, but it STILL won't be a lb7!!

Question: What/where was the oil leak??

:banghead: Took it to Inland Cheby now my gauge cluster is on the frits it didn't work on startup, but when I went to show the service writer it worked fine???? BTW They said my oil leak was a loose filter... well no, its a small brass plug that is next to then filter, I haven't had time to take it to my shop to pull the plug and seal it, or I'd do it. Front bumper cover shrunk 1/2" on both sides (damn truck is parked inside) so it wasn't the sun. My headliner shrunk somehow pulled away from weather strip looked like:knight:

My gauge cluster does the same thing some times. I read on this forum somewhere that the batery's are low and this will happen. It's happening more and more. The battery's are only two years old! WTF

I'm suprised they looked at the pitman/idler arm with your torsions cranked

Have the torsions cranked kills the pitman and Idler Arms?

I have 50K and my Idler is bad is this why?

The more upward angle that the tie-rods have, the more leverage they have to make the pitman/idler arm studs rock front/back, wearing them out prematurely. These are what I bought to fight it: http://www.kennedydiesel.com/categoryresults2.cfm?Category=10&SubCategory=144 Well worth the money, and they make the steering feel tighter and more solid that brand new stock trucks.
